The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, which signifies the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
The Minister congratulated all Muslims for the successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan and urged them to embrace and practice the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of unity in Nigeria and called on all citizens to continue working towards improving and achieving peace and oneness in the country.
He expressed his wishes for a happy Eid-el-Fitr celebration and prayed for the peace, blessings, and favor of Allah to be with everyone and Nigeria.
