FCT Minister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike Addresses Senate on Improved Security in Abuja

the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, addressed the Nigerian Senate on the state of security in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

During the closed session, the Minister assured the Senate that the FCT Administration has been successful in bringing down the wave of insecurity in the region.

Following the meeting, the Senators expressed their satisfaction with the progress made in the security situation in the FCT.

They offered numerous suggestions to the Minister, which he hopes to implement to further enhance the security measures.

According to Wike, the challenge lies in the fact that some of the kidnapping cases are stage-managed by individuals working as aides to the victims.

He emphasized that there is no part of the world where crime has been completely eradicated, and it is essential to acknowledge that as long as we are humans, some level of insecurity will persist.

The Minister also highlighted the efforts of the FCT Administration in arresting two of the most wanted kidnappers, which has led to a significant reduction in the number of kidnapping incidents.

Apart from security, the FCT Minister promised more infrastructural development within the territory.

The region has been transformed into a construction site, with numerous projects underway, including the establishment of a Civil Service Commission and the appointment of Permanent Secretaries, which had not been done previously.

Residents of the FCT have expressed their happiness with these developments and the positive changes in the region.

The Minister’s assurance of improved security, more infrastructure, and the overall well-being of the residents indicates a promising future for the Federal Capital Territory.
