FCT APC Warns President Tinubu: Minister Wike’s Actions May Lead to 2% Votes in 2027

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) voiced their concerns about the actions of the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

The party leaders warned President Bola Tinubu that if the situation remains unchanged, he may struggle to secure 2% of votes in the 2027 presidential election in the capital.

The APC leaders, led by convener Comrade Abdulwahab Ekekhide and co-convener David Omobolaji Obaje, claimed that the minister has disregarded the party and its members in recent appointments.

They also expressed concern that the party may lose the next Area Councils election if the situation remains unchanged, citing the minister’s lack of regard for the party’s structure in the FCT.

The APC leaders said that despite writing a series of letters requesting a meeting with the minister, their requests have been ignored.

They called on President Tinubu, who is the Governor-General of the FCT, to intervene and direct the minister to empower the party.

As the minister is a member of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the APC leaders expressed their concern over President Tinubu’s decision to appoint him as the FCT minister.

They emphasized that the President delegates his powers to the minister, and they believe that the current situation may lead to a significant decrease in the party’s votes in the 2027 presidential election.

The press conference highlights the growing tension between the APC and the FCT minister, with the party leaders urging President Tinubu to take action to ensure that the party’s interests are protected in the capital territory.
