Fani-Kayode Defends Matawalle Amid Alleged Political Undermining and Disinformation

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has spoken out in defense of Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, amid allegations of political undermining and disinformation.
According to Fani-Kayode, there is an orchestrated campaign against Matawalle, led by powerful figures from both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The campaign against Matawalle includes a recent protest by members of a group known as the APC Loyalists Forum, demanding that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reopen a case into the alleged diversion of N70 billion meant for contracts in Zamfara State.
The former governor of Zamfara State, Matawalle, has been facing scrutiny from the EFCC, which has stated that investigations will continue.
Fani-Kayode has called these allegations a “surreptitious attempt” to undermine and discredit Matawalle, who he describes as one of the most dedicated and loyal supporters of President Bola Tinubu.
He believes the campaign is a “pernicious and perfidious attempt” to weaken President Tinubu by removing one of his most courageous and loyal supporters from office.
Fani-Kayode has urged Matawalle not to be deterred by these allegations and to continue the good work he is doing for the country and for President Tinubu.
He emphasizes that the “evil eye” will not see him and that those who envy and hate him will have no power over him.
This situation highlights the complex nature of political alliances and the challenges faced by public figures in navigating the political landscape.
As the accusations and defenses continue to unfold, it remains to be seen how these developments will impact the relationship between the political figures involved and the broader political climate in Nigeria.
