Ekiti Guber Election: Atiku hails PDP guber primary, says  Olusola emergence is good

 

 


Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has commended the peaceful conduct of the Ekiti State Gubernatorial PDP primary and applauds the emergence of deputy governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate.

Advocate Online reliably gathered through Channels Television report that Olusola polled 1,191 votes to beat former party spokesman, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who polled 770 votes.

 

Reacting to the victory, the Waziri of Adamawa congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for a very peaceful, free and fair primaries.

 

In a tweet, Abubakar wrote, ”I wish to congratulate our great party, PDP, on the very peaceful, free and fair primaries just held in Ekiti”.

 

”I urge all others to rally round our gubernatorial candidate to win the July election.”

 

The voting, which started with the members of the state executive, was done according to local government areas. The total number of votes were 1,968, while 7 were void.

 

In his acceptance speech, Olusola said: “I appreciate God and thank the committee for doing a good job. I thank Prince Adeyeye and Senator Olujimi for their courage. “He also commended the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who monitored and supervised the election as well as the PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Second us and other party members promising to a better service if voted in.
