Eid-el-Fitr: Lagos LG Chairmen congratulate Muslim faithful

Some Local Government Chairmen in Lagos State have congratulated  Muslims all over the world for the successful completion of Ramadan, and the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Alhaji Ganiyu Egunjobi, the Executive Chairman Agege Local Government council, in his Eid-el-Fitr message said he hoped that the spirit of the sacred month and the lessons therein would be imbibed always in our actions.

” I pray the almighty Allah accept our supplications. We pray also for the incoming administration to make our nation great.

“Let me use this medium to charge our teeming youths to take advantage of the ongoing registration of the unemployed by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Lagos State.

“The exercise for Agege Local Government and Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area is ongoing at the Conference Hall, Office of the Executive Chairman, Agege Local Government council.

“I, therefore, entreat residents, particularly the unemployed youths, to take advantage of this opportunity in order to improve their lots.

“On behalf of my family, the cabinet, legislative arm, management and staff of Agege Local Government council, I wish you all Barka da Sallah,” Egunjobi prayed.

Also Mrs Adejumoke Senbanjo, the Chairman of Apapa Local Government council, felicitated with the Muslim faithfuls on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr after the completion of the Ramadan fasting, a major pillar of Islam.

According to her, Holy Month of Ramadan is an opportunity for our Muslim brothers and sisters to deepen their relationship with Allah, promote a life of sacrifice, charity, and love for one another.

“It is a month of intense worship, absolute Piety and love for one another. It’s a month of equality and unity .

“To be blessed and honoured to be alive to witness the month is an invaluable opportunity and none should discard the lessons learnt in it,” she said.

The council boss added that the period of the Eid celebration was a clarion call for Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of the season such as selfless service to God and humanity.

She also said that it was a period of sincere commitment to righteous conduct in private and public life.

“My administration is committed to promoting peaceful co-existence in the local government and the state,

“I urge all Muslims in Apapa Local Government to sustain these values even after the Holy month to build a prosperous and peaceful council where everyone can actualise their dreams.

Mr Olufemi Okeowo, the Chairman Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in his message also sued for love, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

Okeowo warmly congratulated the brothers and sisters in Islam on the occasion of the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

“We enjoin all Muslims faithful to extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which are love, peace and justice to their daily living and through this, contribute to the development of our LCDA, Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

“It is my hope and prayer that Ramadan’s spiritual lessons and the Holy Prophet’s teachings of piety, love, justice, fairness, equity, peaceful co-existence, tolerance, honesty and dedication to duty will remain with us all for the benefit and greater glory of our dear LCDA.”

“I enjoin you to also take the celebrations as a time of reflection and pray for Nigeria, as we approach the transition to yet another successful administration. May this occasion bring joy to our homes,” he prayed.

On his part, Barr Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman Kosofe Local Government council also felicitated with the Muslim faithfuls on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri.

Ogunlewe called on all Muslims to put into practice, the lessons learnt during the Ramadan period and love shared with the less privileged in society as exemplified by Holy Prophet.

“The Holy Month of Ramadan is an opportunity for our Muslim brothers and sisters to deepen their relationship with Allah, and promote a life of sacrifice, charity, and love for one another.

“When every citizen upholds and practices the teachings from our holy books, peace and tranquillity would reign in society.

“We should continue to embrace the spirit of love, tolerance, forgiveness and brotherhood as being preached by Islam and other religions.

“I urge all Muslims in Kosofe to sustain these values even after the Holy month to build a prosperous and peaceful Kosofe where everyone can actualise their dreams

“I pledge to continue to do my utmost best to safeguard the lives and property of the people of Kosofe.

“My administration will leave no stone unturned to further better the lives of the people of the local government,” Ogunlewe said.
