Eholor calls on parties in Edo APC crisis to sheath their swords; urges Obaseki to talk less

By Angela James,

The President of One Love Foundation, a human right advocacy group, Patrick Osagie Eholor has called on the various factors involved in the crisis presently rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State to sheath their swords as it has become imperative for them to direct their energy to people friendly policies and programmes that will be of immense benefit to the electorate who voted them into power.

Eholor who stressed that his overriding interest is good governance spoke against the backdrop of the Committee set up by Edo State government to investigate the Ultra modern Edo Hospital built during the administration of Adams Oshiomhole and commissioned by President Mohammed Buhari.

He pointed out that this same project was investigated sometime in the past but was not found liable saying that the originators of the Committee should stop playing politics with the electorates who voted them into power.

“These same persons were probed before but were not liable. This is the eve to the 2020 Guber election because of the primaries. I am not out to defend Adams Oshiomhole because the crisis is between one family which is APC and APC. What is more painful is that they are wasting the time of the electorates and they should busy themselves with things that will benefit the electorates. They should look into the issue of the State House of Assembly and make peace with those aggrieved.

The person who signed the communique was part of the State Executive Council then and if this is what they want to do; they are just going to expose themselves and he would have a lot to explain because Oshiomhole does not sign cheques. But he has the right to sign appropriation for a hospital or for road construction. The APC crisis is reconcilable “.

Eholor advised the Governor of the State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to talk less because he is the governor and the chief security officer of the state.

Eholor who disclosed that he would not be vying for any elective position explained that he does not want to create more enmity for himself as politics in this part of the world is too dirty compared to that of the advanced countries.

On the issue of insecurity in the country, He took sides with the south-south and south-east governors on Operation Amotekun as it will create jobs and give the people a sense of security considering the activities of herdsmen in the area.

He took a swipe on President Mohammadu Buhari describing him as a sectional leader who mostly appointed persons from the northern part of the country to take key positions in the country.
