The EFCC arrested former Power Minister Saleh Mamman in Kaduna State on Tuesday morning. Photos of the ex-official have now been released by the anti-corruption agency.
Mamman was picked up around 3:30 a.m., according to EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede. He'd been evading capture after a court convicted him of massive fraud.
The ex-minister faced 75 years imprisonment for stealing N33.8 billion. These funds were earmarked for the Zungeru and Mambilla hydroelectric projects.
Two other people were arrested alongside Mamman at the location. Officials say they'd been helping him hide from law enforcement.
Investigators are now examining the residence where the arrest occurred. The property may yield evidence relevant to the ongoing probe.
