Mazi Moses Idika, a PDP chieftain and national ex-officio member, has firmly backed Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii's 2027 governorship ambitions. He rejected calls for Odii to withdraw from the race based on zoning arrangements.

Idika argued that history contradicts zoning claims in Ebonyi politics. Since 1999, he noted, candidates from all three senatorial districts have contested for the governorship.

The PDP stalwart said no constitutional rule bars qualified citizens from seeking office. "Elections conducted in the state have featured candidates from Ebonyi North, Central and South," he explained.

According to him, Odii's ambition is legitimate and shouldn't be constrained by what he termed an "imaginary zoning system." Voters, not political arrangements, should decide the matter.

Idika challenged Governor Francis Nwifuru's supporters to showcase achievements instead of focusing on succession politics. He accused the state government of neglecting developmental issues.

He expressed confidence that Odii would present a better vision. That vision centers on investment, industrialisation, and economic growth for Ebonyi.

The PDP figure described Odii as patriotic and committed to improving welfare. He's convinced the businessman will unlock greater economic opportunities for the state.

"Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii will contest, he will win, and Ebonyi people will be happy again," Idika stated firmly. His message was unambiguous and uncompromising.

Idika urged residents to elect their next governor through democratic processes in 2027. Only the ballot box should determine Ebonyi's future leadership.

His statement reflects intensifying political activities across Ebonyi ahead of the general elections. Party realignments are gaining momentum in the state.
