Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across Delta State and Nigeria, urging them to remain steadfast in their faith and uphold the teachings of Jesus Christ.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described Easter as a season of hope, sacrifice, and renewal. He noted that the celebration reflects the triumph of light over darkness and life over death through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Oborevwori called on Christians to draw inspiration from the virtues exemplified by Christ, including love, humility, perseverance, and selflessness, stressing that such values are critical to building a united, peaceful, and prosperous society. According to him, “This sacred season reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, His triumphant resurrection, and the eternal hope it brings to humanity.”

He further urged citizens to renew their commitment to nation-building, adding, “As we commemorate the resurrection of our Lord, let us also renew our commitment to building a state and a nation where peace, justice, and brotherhood prevail.” He prayed that the joy and hope of Easter would fill homes, while calling for continued prayers for peace, prosperity, and divine guidance for Delta State and Nigeria.

The governor also encouraged residents to celebrate responsibly, show love to one another, and extend kindness to those in need. “I urge you all to celebrate responsibly, cherish moments with your loved ones, and extend kindness to those in need. Together, let us build a brighter and more prosperous future for all,” he said.

Oborevwori reassured Deltans of his administration’s commitment to improving living conditions and ensuring meaningful development, reaffirming his resolve to deliver policies and programmes that will positively impact the lives of the people.
