Don’t Use NLC’s Platform, Funds for Personal Ambition, Abure Warns Ajaero

National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Comrade Julius Abure, has cautioned the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, against using the NLC’s platform, resources, or funds to pursue his personal political ambitions, such as the 2027 presidential or Imo governorship elections.

Abure made these remarks in Asaba, Delta State on Wednesday, while responding to the recent picketing of the LP’s national headquarters by protesting members of the NLC demanding his immediate removal as national chairman.

The LP chairman criticized Ajaero, stating that he has failed to organize a successful strike action or even a single protest or picketing of government establishments to address workers’ requests.

Abure also pointed out that the NLC under Ajaero’s leadership has not been active in addressing unfair labor practices in several organizations across the country.

He questioned the NLC’s motives and emphasized that the party is not owned by the NLC, despite their claims.

The Labour Party chairman further stated that the NLC’s actions are politically motivated and an abuse of office and the laws of the land.

He declared that there are no trade union disputes between the LP and the NLC, and that the NLC has no legitimate reason to picket their office.

Abure urged Ajaero to focus on his responsibilities as the NLC President and not use the platform to pursue personal political ambitions.

He emphasized the importance of addressing workers’ rights and issues rather than engaging in political battles.
