In a bold stride toward digital inclusion and youth empowerment, the First Lady of Delta State, Her Excellency Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has distributed 500 uLesson learning tablets to students in public primary and secondary schools across the state.
The impactful event, held Thursday at Government House, Asaba, was executed in partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Deaconess Oborevwori described the initiative as a strategic investment in the next generation.
“We’re giving out 500 uLesson tablets – 100 for primary, 200 for junior secondary, and 200 for senior secondary school students,” she said. “This isn’t just a gift; it’s a gateway to digital learning and academic excellence.”

She emphasized the importance of equipping students—especially those in underserved areas—with tools to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.
“This collaboration with Renewed Hope and NDDC is about lighting a path for our children’s future,” she added.
Mrs. Catherine Onyeme, Wife of the Deputy Governor, hailed the project as a reflection of the Oborevwori administration’s focus on people-centered development.
“This government is known for empowerment and uplifting lives. Today’s event is another beacon of progress,” she declared, also encouraging traders present to make wise use of the support they received.
Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, lauded the gesture, calling the tablets “keys to global exploration and self-driven learning.”
“With internet access, these children can conquer the world,” he said.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, praised the First Ladies—of Delta State and Nigeria—for championing education and inspiring a generation with hope and opportunity.
Beyond tablets, the event also featured the distribution of gas ovens for bakers, grinding machines for petty traders, and cash grants to support small businesses—sparking joy and gratitude among beneficiaries who thanked the First Ladies for the life-changing support.
