A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Engineer Emmanuel Afam Eboh, has fired back at Dr. Festus Okubor, chief strategist to the state governor, over his recent comments criticising the Delta North APC senatorial meeting hosted by Senator Ned Nwoko.
Describing Okubor’s remarks as a “misrepresentation of facts,” Eboh stated in a press release that the meeting, held on June 14 at Idumuje-Ugboko, was properly convened per the APC constitution and had the full backing of the party’s senatorial leadership.
"Senatorial meetings long predate Dr. Okubor’s recent entry into the APC," Eboh said. "The authority to convene such gatherings lies with the senatorial chairman, who can designate any capable leader to host—exactly what Chief Adizue Eluaka did by requesting Senator Nwoko to host the meeting."
He accused Okubor of making “alarmist and ill-informed” statements without properly understanding party structure, noting that such utterances could sow disaffection within party ranks.
Eboh praised Senator Nwoko for acting as a unifying figure and strengthening the APC in Delta North, stating the meeting was a massive success attended by thousands of stakeholders. A key highlight, he added, was the symbolic endorsement of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term in 2027.
“APC is a party of order, not chaos,” Eboh said. “There is no room for reckless commentary. We must be guided by discipline, especially now as we consolidate our gains.”
He urged all members, especially newcomers, to familiarise themselves with the party's constitution and maintain decorum in public engagements.
