The Executive Director, Projects, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, has called on Christians to embrace sincere spiritual reflection as they mark the Easter season, emphasizing the need to go beyond routine celebrations.

Dr. Okorodudu made the call on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the 10th edition of the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Warri Resurrection Dinner, held at the DBS premises in Edjeba, Warri, with the theme “Crucified with Christ.”

Speaking at the event, he stressed that the foundation of Christianity rests on the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that believers must not only commemorate the physical death on the Cross but also internalize the sacrifices made for humanity’s redemption. He urged Christians to use the Easter period as a time of sanctification and renewed commitment to faith, anchored on the price paid on Calvary.

Quoting Galatians 2:20, where Apostle Paul declared, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me…”, Okorodudu challenged politicians, civil servants, business leaders, and other stakeholders to reflect Christ-like virtues in leadership and daily living. He described the gathering as a moment of sober reflection on the true essence of Easter.

Earlier in his welcome address, the General Manager of DBS Warri, Pastor Malcolm Oteri, expressed appreciation to guests and participants, noting that the annual Resurrection Dinner has become a vital platform for reinforcing the true meaning of Easter among Christians.

Oteri, who highlighted that this year’s event marked the 10th edition, raised concerns over rising moral decadence among youths, urging parents, guardians, and leaders to take deliberate steps in guiding the younger generation to prevent societal decline.

He also commended the Chairman of the DBS Board, Olorogun Elegbete Moses Odibo, for his leadership, dedication, and commitment to the growth of the organization.

The well-attended event featured notable personalities, including Rev. Mrs. Ufuoma Omatsheye; Special Guest of Honour, Comrade Ovuozorie Macaulay; Spiritual Father of the Day, Archbishop Iboyi Godday; President of Okpe Christian Association, Rev. Godspower Agbadita; Rev. Harold Ikuku; Hon. Justice Anthony Olotu Akpovi of High Court 2, Warri; and Mrs. Augusta Gold Okoro, among others.
