Dash Microfinance Bank has rolled out Dash Pay for Me, a new feature designed to make requesting and receiving money simpler for users across Nigeria. The tool allows customers to send money requests to anyone instantly, with funds landing directly into their Dash account once approved.

The feature forms part of the Dash V2 product suite, a broader collection of next-generation tools built to speed up everyday financial transactions for Nigerians. Rotimi Awofisibe, managing director and chief executive of Dash Microfinance Bank, said the launch tackles a common pain point in daily life.

"Nigerians request money from each other every single day, but the process has always come with some friction," Awofisibe told reporters. "With Dash Pay for Me, we are removing that friction entirely."

He explained that the solution centres on how people actually behave and communicate in real life. "It is a simple idea built around quick, clear requests and fast payments, with no long explanations needed," he said.

The CEO highlighted the everyday situations where users struggle with money transfers. "Asking for money is one of those small but constant frictions in daily life; whether you are splitting a bill, contributing to a group gift, getting paid back by a friend, or asking family for support," Awofisibe noted.

He added that traditional payment processes involve tedious steps. "The usual process includes sending long account details, explaining what the money is for, and constantly checking to confirm if the payment has landed," according to him.

Awofisibe encouraged Nigerians to download the updated app and start using Dash Pay for Me immediately. The feature is now available to all users and comes as part of the Dash V2 upgrade.

Beyond the new money request tool, Dash Microfinance Bank has introduced additional features to enhance convenience. Users can now schedule one-time or recurring payments for transfers and bills, with automated reminders sent before each transaction processes.

The app also allows users to edit or cancel scheduled payments at any time before they execute. A new Payment Categories feature lets customers tag transactions and track spending patterns through visual insights.

Users can set spending limits for different categories and receive notifications as they approach those thresholds. This helps customers manage their finances more effectively and stay within budget.

The Dash app is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for users ready to experience the upgraded banking experience.
