Call Tinubu to Order: Lukman Urges Akande, Onu, and Other Founding Leaders to Take Action

In an open letter to the founding leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former national vice chairman, (North-west) Salihu Lukman urged prominent figures like Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, and Chief Rochas Okorocha to call President Bola Tinubu to order for running a ‘closed government.’

Lukman, who was also the Director General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), expressed concern over the current political climate and the potential for rebellion against harsh living conditions faced by citizens.

He emphasized the importance of the founding leaders taking action to prevent this looming danger.

The party’s chieftain stressed that both as APC and Nigerians, the party leaders have a responsibility to make all the needed sacrifices to win back President Tinubu’s administration and put it on the path of emerging as an inclusive government managed by an envisioned progressive party, the APC.

Lukman further pointed out that President Asiwaju Tinubu’s respect for political leaders in the country is weak, largely because of the failure of these leaders to act as such.

He stated that virtually all APC leaders are behaving more like bosses rather than leaders.

The former Director General of the PGF also highlighted the importance of consultations as provided in the APC Constitution and urged the current administration to follow suit, even if the previous one did not.

Lukman’s call to action for the founding leaders serves as a reminder that the current political climate demands immediate attention and that the responsibility to create an inclusive government managed by a progressive party lies in the hands of the leaders themselves.
