Nigerian musician Brymo has revealed that 2Baba confronted his ex-wife Annie Macaulay about whether she'd been intimate with him. The allegation emerged during Brymo's appearance on the Notjustok podcast, where he discussed his past relationships with married women.
Brymo recalled a specific moment in 2019 at an office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Baba asked Annie directly if she'd slept with him. "I'll never forget it," Brymo said of the encounter.
The musician admitted to having affairs with several married women over the years. He claimed some of these women told him they were separated from their husbands, though he later discovered they weren't.
Brymo used the opportunity to warn younger artists against pursuing married women. "Stop sleeping with people's wives," he cautioned, adding that such relationships could harm their careers and lives.
"I'm wicked, you people don't know me," Brymo said, describing himself in stark terms. He stressed that he'd encountered "quite a number of older women who were truly married" during his time in the music industry.
Neither Annie nor 2Baba has publicly responded to Brymo's claims. The allegations come years after the couple's high-profile separation.
This isn't Brymo's first time making controversial statements about his personal life. In 2023, he named singers Simi and Efya among female colleagues he'd allegedly requested sex from in exchange for collaboration opportunities.
Brymo's latest revelations have reignited discussions about relationships and behaviour within Nigeria's music industry. His comments serve as a reminder of the complex personal dynamics that have played out among top Nigerian artists over the years.
