Borno APC Suspends Members for Selling Governor Zulum’s Palliatives

The Borno State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has taken disciplinary action against four of its members for allegedly selling food palliatives approved by Governor Babagana Zulum for vulnerable families in the state.

The suspended members, who include a state executive member and three ward executive members, are currently in the custody of the Nigerian police CID.

According to a statement released by the Borno’s APC secretary, the suspension of Ali Kaka, Adam Ajiya, Mala Mohammed, and Usman Bukar is in line with the provisions of Article 21 of the party’s Constitution.

The decision was made during a State Working Committee meeting on March 10, 2024, and the suspension will remain in effect until the outcome of the party’s disciplinary committee investigation.

The suspended members are accused of selling the palliative token, which allows families to benefit from Governor Zulum’s intervention, for personal gain.

This action is considered a violation of the party’s code of conduct and undermines the purpose of the governor’s initiative to provide support to vulnerable families in the state.

The suspension of these members sends a strong message to other party members about the importance of adhering to the party’s rules and regulations and maintaining the integrity of the party’s initiatives.

It also serves as a reminder that the party will not tolerate any actions that could jeopardize the well-being of the people they were elected to serve.

As the investigation unfolds, the Borno APC aims to maintain transparency and accountability in its actions, ensuring that its members are held responsible for their actions and that the party’s reputation remains intact.
