An elder statesman and business mogul, Olorogun Morrison Olori, urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration as it navigates the country through challenging economic conditions.
Olori, speaking to journalists in Ughelli, Delta State, emphasized that President Tinubu’s policies are designed to lift Nigerians out of poverty, adding that their positive effects will soon be evident.
He stated, “The policies being initiated by this administration are aimed at pulling Nigerians out of poverty, and I am confident they will start yielding results soon.”
As a prominent figure in Nigeria’s business community, Olori also made a strong case for the suspension of import duties on food items, citing the current high cost of living. He urged Tinubu to consider this temporary relief until the nation’s local food production is sufficiently improved.
Olorogun Olori, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), praised Tinubu’s recent foreign trips, which included visits to China and other countries aimed at attracting investment. He described the tours as strategic moves to secure foreign investment that will catalyze economic growth in Nigeria.

"From what I have observed, Mr. President is on the right track with his policies. Nigerians will soon start seeing the results of these policies when production is increased and when many people are taken out of the unemployment market. He should be commended for this. Nigerians should be patient with President Tinubu.
“We are already seeing foreign investors coming into the country,” Olori remarked, stressing the importance of foreign capital in revitalizing industries and creating jobs for Nigerians. “These investments will soon begin to manifest in tangible ways, with increased production and employment opportunities.”
On fuel Subsidy, Olori addressed the controversial removal of fuel subsidies, a policy shift that has sparked widespread debate. He expressed optimism that with the Dangote Refinery beginning production and repair works on Warri and Port Harcourt refineries nearing completion, the fuel crisis will stabilize. “Fuel prices will come down as domestic production ramps up,” he said, adding that Tinubu’s administration is sincere in its efforts to alleviate hardship, urging citizens to support these reforms rather than protest.
Regarding food security, Olori called for immediate action to address hunger in the country. “Mr. President should allow food importation for now. Nigerians are hungry,” he said, stressing that this would help drive down the rising cost of food, which he attributed to opportunistic price hikes by farmers.
Olori also applauded Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her efforts in promoting agriculture, urging Nigerians to embrace farming, no matter the scale, as a means to boost food production across the nation.
In his final remarks, Olori reiterated his confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and the eventual success of the administration’s policies. “Nigerians should be patient with President Tinubu. From what I have observed, he is on the right track.”
