Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate, has sent warm greetings to Muslims nationwide celebrating Eid-El-Kabir this year.

His message emphasized prayers, national unity, and compassion for society's poorest members.

In a statement released through his media office, Barau called on all Nigerians to use the festival as a moment for spiritual reflection. He urged citizens to pray for peace and the nation's continued advancement during this significant period.

Barau, who also serves as First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, extended special congratulations to Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. He asked them to remember the country in their prayers at Islam's holiest sites.

According to the senator, these prayers during Hajj carry immense spiritual weight for national progress. He stressed that pilgrims should specifically petition for Nigeria's stability and economic growth.

Barau praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's dedication to tackling the nation's pressing issues. He noted the president remains focused on improving citizens' lives across all sectors.

"I wish Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful and unforgettable Eid-El-Kabir," Barau stated in the message. "This festival reminds us of complete submission to Allah's will, as Prophet Ibrahim demonstrated."

He emphasized that faithful believers must champion sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, justice, and generosity. These values, he argued, form the foundation of Islamic teaching and practice.

Barau called on Nigerians to strengthen support for vulnerable populations during the celebrations. "Let us reach out to the poor and needy in our communities," he urged.

Setting aside differences remains crucial, according to the senator, for national development. He appealed for recommitment to building a prosperous, unified, and peaceful Nigeria.

The senator expressed confidence in the president's leadership approach and vision. With collective national effort, he believes Nigeria will achieve greater prosperity and stability soon.

"Eid Mubarak," Barau concluded, wishing the Muslim community joy and blessings.
