Suspected bandits attacked Dauran town in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Thursday night, abducting multiple residents and torching the home of a prominent community elder. Security analyst Bakatsine shared details of the raid on X on Friday.

The attackers razed the residence of Malam Ahmad Ariri Galadawa, a well-respected elder in the community. The exact number of people taken away remains unclear.

Bakatsine described the assault as another episode of violence that left families desperately seeking missing relatives. He wrote: "Another night of violence leaves families searching for loved ones and communities once again counting the cost of insecurity."

The analyst's post confirmed that bandits stormed the town and kidnapped several inhabitants during the assault. No official statement has yet been issued by Zamfara State authorities on the incident.

Zurmi has endured repeated attacks from armed groups in recent months. The latest raid adds to mounting security concerns across the state, where banditry continues to disrupt daily life.
