‘Attack Staff, Go to Jail’: IBEDC Issues Stern Warning to Customers in Kwara State

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in Kwara State has issued a stern warning to customers against violent attacks and assaults on its staff members.

In a recent statement by the Managing Director, Kingsley Achife, the company emphasized that any assault on staff members would attract a jail term.

Achife reiterated the company’s commitment to serving its customers and providing quality service, especially during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

He urged customers to channel their complaints through the appropriate means, such as IBEDC offices or the customer care line at 07001239999, rather than resorting to violence.

The Managing Director also highlighted the dangers of tampering with electrical installations and called on communities to watch over their electrical installations and report any suspected act of vandalism.

He warned that such actions could lead to electrical accidents and urged the public to join the fight against vandalism to avoid being plunged into darkness during the holiday.

IBEDC offices will remain open during public holidays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to address customer needs, and inquiries can also be made via email at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).

The company’s warning comes as a response to the increasing cases of assault and attacks on staff members, which not only jeopardizes their safety but also hinders the company’s ability to provide efficient services to its customers.

As the electricity distribution company for Kwara State, IBEDC remains committed to ensuring a stable power supply and addressing customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner.

Customers are advised to adhere to the company’s guidelines and refrain from engaging in acts of violence or vandalism, as these actions will not be tolerated and could lead to severe consequences.
