Atiku Donates N10 Million to Yola Market Fire Relief Fund, Calls for Support

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has announced a donation of N10 million to the Yola Market Fire Relief Fund, following a devastating fire outbreak at the Yola Main Market.

Expressing deep sadness over the incident, Atiku, who is also the Waziri Adamawa, urged other Nigerians of means to contribute to the relief fund to support the Adamawa State Government in rebuilding the market and providing assistance to the victims.

In a press statement released on Wednesday, Atiku acknowledged the challenges faced by those affected by the fire, especially considering the current economic hardship in the country.

He emphasized the importance of preventive measures and infrastructure to deal with fire outbreaks and prevent such disasters in the future.

The former Vice President also called for a collective effort in supporting the victims of the fire incident, stating, “I passionately urge other Nigerians, well wishers, and friends of Adamawa State to join and add to my donation of N10 million in providing succour to victims of this particular disaster.”

Atiku’s call for support and his initial donation of N10 million are aimed at providing relief to the affected traders and their families, as well as assisting the Adamawa State Government in rebuilding the market.

He expressed his prayers for God to replenish the losses and grant reprieve to those affected by the disaster.
