Brigadier General A.M. Dikko commands the 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.
He praised his troops during a special prayer ceremony in Ohafia on Thursday.
The occasion marked the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration, known as NADCEL. Dikko commended soldiers for their sacrifices in maintaining peace across the region.
He urged personnel to stay diligent and disciplined. Professional conduct, he stressed, remains critical to their constitutional duties.
Dedication and teamwork are essential ingredients for success. Dikko emphasized that loyalty to core army values cannot be compromised.
According to the brigade commander, troops must support the vision of Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Waidi Shaibu.
Military ethics and operational readiness must be maintained at the highest levels.
Dikko expressed confidence in his officers and soldiers. He believes they'll remain resolute despite emerging security threats.
The ceremony took place at the Central Mosque in Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks. Imam Murtala Sabi delivered a sermon highlighting righteousness and discipline.
He spoke about patience, gratitude, and reliance on Almighty Allah. These virtues, he noted, guide all meaningful endeavors.
Special prayers were offered for Nigeria's lasting peace. Worshippers also prayed for national unity, stability, and widespread prosperity.
Prayers extended to the 82 Division and all army formations. The congregation sought continued success for every unit nationwide.
