APC Urges IGP, Security Agencies to Swear-in Plateau State Legislators Amid Political Instability

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called upon the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, and other security agencies to ensure that 16 of its members in the Plateau State House of Assembly are sworn-in without any further delay.

The ruling party has maintained that it is a law-abiding organization, but its patience is wearing thin.

During a meeting of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) on Wednesday, the party expressed its outrage and displeasure over the continued illegality and unacceptable actions of the Governor of Plateau State, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The Court of Appeal has affirmed its decision to sanction the illegality of the Speaker and the PDP for attempting to review its decision.

The APC has threatened legal action against the state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Gabriel Dewan, over their refusal to abide by the final decision of the Court of Appeal to swear in the 16 members.

The party has also warned that its patience is running out and that it will not allow the legislative rascality of the Speaker to go unchallenged.

In other news, the NWC has resolved to commence the electronic membership registration of the party in Minna, Niger State on the 19th of March, after registering President Bola Tinubu and Vice President, Kashim Shettima in Villa in Abuja.

As the political instability in Plateau State continues, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold and whether the APC’s demands will be met.
