APC Petitions NJC Over Kano Judge’s Ruling on Ganduje’s Suspension

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has filed a petition with the National Judicial Council (NJC) against Justice Usman Na’abba of the Kano State High Court for granting an ex parte order that restrained the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, from further parading himself as the party’s leader.

This order was issued following the suspension of Ganduje by executives of the Ganduje Ward in the Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The petition comes after the ward’s Legal Adviser, Gwanjo, and Assistant Secretary, Laminu Baguma, filed an ex parte application, listing the APC, the APC National Working Committee, the Kano State APC Executive Committee, and Ganduje as respondents.

The suspension of Ganduje by the ward leadership was based on the bribery allegations against him, specifically referencing charges involving $413,000 and N1.38 billion filed by the Kano State Government in the Kano State High Court.

During a press conference in Kano, Gwanjo, the Legal Adviser of the APC Ganduje Ward, emphasized the decision to suspend Ganduje due to the bribery charges.

The ex parte order granted by Justice Na’abba has since stirred controversy within the APC, prompting the party to take action against the judge by raising the matter with the NJC.

The petition to the NJC highlights the ongoing legal and political dispute within the APC and the broader implications for the party’s leadership and governance.

As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how the NJC will respond to the petition and whether the suspension of Ganduje will be upheld or overturned.
