Senior members of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State visited President Bola Tinubu on Saturday evening. They came bearing news of their gubernatorial choice for 2027.

Senator Sharafadeen Alli is the man they're backing. He currently serves as Oyo South's representative in the Senate.

A party primary election had taken place days before the presidential visit. Alli emerged as the APC's standard-bearer from that contest.

Chief Moses Adeyemo led the delegation to Tinubu. Adeyemo, a former Deputy Governor, now chairs the APC in Oyo State.

Accompanying him were fellow ex-Deputy Governor Chief Iyiola Oladokun and former Senator Ayoade Adeseun. The group also included Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, the party's National Deputy Auditor.

Gbenga Olayemi and Soji Adedeji rounded out the delegation. Both men hold significant positions within Oyo APC circles.

During their audience with Tinubu, the chieftains formally presented Alli as their candidate. They outlined his qualifications and readiness for the governorship race.

The delegation pledged unwavering support for both Tinubu and Alli ahead of next year's election. Sources say the president received them warmly and acknowledged their choice.
