APC Criticizes Adeleke: Unpaid Salaries and Fiscal Concerns in Osun State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has launched a scathing critique of Governor Ademola Adeleke, questioning his administration’s fiscal responsibility and accusing him of neglecting the needs of civil servants and pensioners.

This criticism comes in the wake of Governor Adeleke’s recent social activities in Lagos State, which the APC argues are inappropriate in light of the financial challenges faced by the state.

The APC has raised concerns about the unpaid March salaries for civil servants and retirees in Osun State, despite the increased revenue allocation from the Federal Government.

The party’s chairman, Kola Olabisi, has questioned the governor’s priorities, suggesting that his focus on social events in Lagos and Abuja is a display of poor governance and insensitivity to the needs of the people.

Olabisi further highlighted the substantial financial resources at the disposal of the Adeleke administration, including over N200 billion in net Federal allocation and N14 billion in cash reserves inherited from the previous administration.

The APC chairman argued that Governor Adeleke’s actions, including his attendance at social events and lack of transparency in financial management, are indicative of either a lack of empathy or a sign that the state is in financial distress.

The criticism from the APC comes as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun claims that the APC is envious of Governor Adeleke’s performance during his one-and-a-half years in office.

The ongoing political back-and-forth underscores the challenges faced by the Adeleke administration in managing public expectations and addressing the fiscal concerns of the state.

As the debate over Governor Adeleke’s governance and financial management continues, it remains to be seen how the state will address the issue of unpaid salaries and whether the administration will take steps to reassure the public of its commitment to fiscal responsibility and the welfare of civil servants and pensioners.
