Senator Ned Nwoko’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is being hailed as a game-changing moment in Delta State politics, with prominent APC chieftain Chief Emma Ejiofor calling the move a major win for progressive governance and visionary leadership in the region.
In an exclusive interview, Ejiofor praised Nwoko as a “pragmatic, forward-thinking leader” whose politics are driven not by self-interest but by a long-term commitment to development and legacy.
“Nwoko is not your everyday politician. He does things that will outlive him. He thinks beyond now,” Ejiofor said, describing the lawmaker’s entry into the APC as a catalyst for transformation in Anioma and beyond.
The Senator, who recently left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been credited with quietly pushing major projects like the N28 billion Oko-Patani Road and the Okpa Power Plant into the national budget—initiatives expected to boost local economies and infrastructure.
“He’s not about noise. That road project alone will reshape our economy,” Ejiofor stated. “Add the power plant, and you’re talking about generational impact.”
Nwoko’s approach, according to Ejiofor, contrasts sharply with politicians who pursue office for prestige. “Some just want titles. But Ned is organizing his people, attracting real development, and giving us a voice at the federal level.”
Calling for strategic unity among lawmakers across Delta, Ejiofor urged senators, House members, and State Assembly leaders to create a joint regional development roadmap to avoid duplication and make better use of resources.
“We need to coordinate, align, and focus. That’s how Anioma moves forward,” he said.
Dismissing critics of the senator, Ejiofor accused them of fearing change. “He’s not interested in sharing money—he’s building legacies. People hate that because it exposes their own failures.”
Ejiofor emphasized that his support for Nwoko is based solely on the Senator’s integrity and track record. “I’ve never touched his one Naira,” he declared. “This is about vision, not transaction.”
Capping his remarks, Ejiofor dubbed Nwoko “Odogwu Anioma”—a title denoting strength and leadership—and likened him to artificial intelligence for his futuristic mindset.
“People talk about AI—Ned is AI. He’s operating on a higher level,” he said. “Anioma State is no longer a dream. With leaders like him, it’s a done deal.”
With backing from influential voices like Ejiofor, Senator Nwoko’s shift to the APC is already reshaping the region’s political landscape—redefining what leadership should look like in Delta State.
