A senior All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Delta North, Chief Emma Ejiofor, has publicly endorsed Senator Ned Nwoko’s 2027 re‑election bid—asserting that “nobody is contesting Senator Nwoko’s position with him” and branding any would‑be rivals as mere “shenanigans.”
In an exclusive interview, Chief Ejiofor praised Nwoko as an “unmatched political figure” whose leap from the PDP to the APC has reshaped the region’s power dynamics. “We know the sudden movement from PDP to APC is a result of Ned. If Ned had not moved, they wouldn't have moved,” he said.
Ejiofor highlighted Nwoko’s impact in Abuja: “If you go to the National Assembly, you’ll be proud that you’re from Anioma nation. You have a colossus as a senator. Everybody respects him. This is what is needed in governance.”
Forecasting a landslide return, the APC stalwart declared, “Ned is AI himself—he can proffer solutions to your political problems the way you want it. He will not have any stiff competition in returning to the Senate.”
Central to Ejiofor’s argument is Nwoko’s record of high‑impact constituency projects. “Don’t you want them to tar the Oko‑Patani road? What about the dam at Idumuje‑Ugboko? The Okpai power plant? The Ogwashi‑Uku dam? He must finish them—and every other good thing he has in mind,” Ejiofor insisted, deriding “insulting” handouts like sewing machines and tricycles.
Ejiofor made clear that Delta North’s APC machinery is fully mobilized behind Nwoko: “Now that we have gotten a voice in Delta North—mark that word—we have a voice in government. We must send him back to the Senate to finish all he has started.”
Nwoko’s high‑profile defection from the PDP earlier this year electrified state politics, triggering a scramble for allegiances. But, according to Chief Ejiofor, any challenge to his dominance in 2027 would be futile.
With the APC’s Delta North apparatus firmly in his corner and a string of landmark projects under way, Senator Ned Nwoko appears poised for an uncontested return—cementing his reputation as Delta’s most formidable political heavyweight.
