The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, has successfully apprehended 45 suspects involved in various criminal activities across the state.

The arrests were part of a recent crackdown on criminal elements in the state, with the aim of ensuring the safety of residents during the festive period.

During a press briefing at the Amotekun Corps headquarters in Akure, the state capital, the commander of the security outfit, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that the arrested suspects included 14 kidnappers.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa directed that 28 of the suspects, who were identified as first-time offenders, be released to their families.

The suspects were apprehended for various crimes, including kidnapping, dangerous driving, burglary, anti-grazing offenses, destruction of public peace, theft, and dealing in stolen goods.

Among those paraded were two victims of a kidnapping syndicate in Akoko LGA, as well as the motorcycle used by the kidnappers.
