Oyo State's All Progressives Congress leadership took Sharafadeen Alli to meet President Bola Tinubu this week. The move effectively closes the book on months of debate about the party's governorship ticket.
Moses Adeyemo, the Oyo APC chairman and former deputy governor, led the delegation to the president's office. He brought along ex-Deputy Governor Iyiola Oladokun and former Senator Ayoade Adeseun from Oyo Central.
Party stalwarts Fatai Ibikunle and Gbenga Olayemi, the APC's national deputy auditor, also made the trip. Soji Adedeji rounded out the group that travelled to present Alli's candidacy.
The delegation didn't just showcase Alli to Tinubu. They introduced the party's three senatorial candidates as well, signalling unity within Oyo APC ranks.
Remi Oseni will fly the party flag in Oyo South. Senator Yunus Akintunde represents their choice for Oyo Central, while Hannah Ogunesan leads the Oyo North ticket.
Party insiders see the presentation as proof of their determination to reclaim power in the state. It demonstrates that Oyo APC stands together heading into future contests.
