Aliko Dangote Foundation’s Ramadan Initiative: Feeding 10,000 Daily and Distributing 1 Million Bags of Rice Nationwide

To alleviate hunger and provide relief to millions of Nigerians facing economic challenges, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, has launched a Ramadan initiative to distribute free meals and one million bags of rice across the nation.

The initiative includes distributing one million bags of rice worth over N13 billion throughout the 36 states of the federation and Abuja.

This act of charity aims to provide much-needed assistance to those struggling to make ends meet during these difficult times.

In addition to the rice distribution, the foundation has also been providing 20,000 loaves of bread daily to Kano residents and 15,000 daily to Lagos residents since 2020.

This feeding gesture, which began during the COVID pandemic, has continued to support vulnerable communities in these cities.

The free Ramadan meals, which include jollof rice, white rice, and stew, jollof spaghetti, yam, beans with chicken and beef, and a bottle of water and drink, are distributed at Juma’at mosques, streets, prisons, orphanages, and other locations in Kano city and its environs.

The meals provide much-needed relief to those who might otherwise have to break their fast with only water.

Beneficiaries of the initiative have expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided during this time of hardship.

One recipient, Musa Maikatako, said that the free meal has helped him break his fast with ease and will help alleviate the suffering of many people who would otherwise have to break their fast with only water.

Hajiya Inna Tukur, another beneficiary, expressed her delight at receiving such delicious food for free in the current economic climate.

She thanked Aliko Dangote and the foundation for their generosity and prayed for their continued success.

Samira Sanusi, an official of the foundation in Kano, said that apart from the Ramadan initiative, the foundation has been feeding 10,000 Kano residents daily with breakfast, lunch, and dinner for over 30 years.

This unique feat has provided much-needed support to the needy in Kano, and it is a testament to the foundation’s commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need.

The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s Ramadan initiative is a shining example of how individuals and organizations can work together to address the challenges faced by millions of Nigerians.

By providing food and relief to those in need, the foundation is making a tangible difference in the lives of many and setting an example for others to follow.
