Akpabio Pledges Senate Collaboration with Tinubu Administration for National Development

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has reaffirmed the National Assembly’s commitment to work closely with President Bola Tinubu’s administration in providing infrastructure and improving the economy for the benefit of the people.

This pledge was made during the commissioning of urban and farm roads in the Ikot Ekpene and Essien Udim local government areas of Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District on Friday.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio highlighted the importance of physical infrastructure like good road networks, hospitals, and water supply in improving the lives of the people.

He emphasized that the Senate under his leadership will continue to support the current administration to ensure the people enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Akpabio also pointed out that the commissioning of the feeder roads was aimed at facilitating the swift evacuation of farm produce from the rural areas to the city.

He described the event as a precursor to the benefits the district and the entire state could expect from the Tinubu-led administration, given the support they had shown during the last general election.

The Senate President expressed his readiness to collaborate with the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno, in tackling the issue of erosion, which threatens to damage various infrastructures in the state.

He thanked the people of the local councils for coming out in large numbers to witness the commissioning of the roads.

The roads commissioned include Esa Atan Road, Water Works Road leading to Itak Ikot Udo, Nkana Road in Ikot Abia Idem, and Ikot Esse Road.

These roads were in a state of disrepair for years, making the community inaccessible before their construction.

The event underscores the commitment of the Senate under Akpabio’s leadership to work hand in hand with the executive arm of the government in delivering key infrastructure projects to the people of Nigeria.
