Aisha Yesufu, the outspoken socio-political activist, says elections aren't won through social media campaigns or dirty tricks. She made the statement on Wednesday via her X account while addressing NDC members in the FCT.

Victory at the ballot box requires direct contact with voters, Yesufu argued. It demands respect, empathy, and genuine compassion for the people you seek to represent.

"Election is not won by social media propaganda nor by an orchestrated smear campaign," she posted. "Election is won by engaging the electorate one wishes to serve respectfully and with empathy and compassion."

Yesufu was speaking ahead of the NDC's FCT primary elections. She called on registered party members to stay committed to the party's mission.

Voters must choose candidates who can truly fight for their interests, she emphasized. The time for fear-based political decisions has ended, according to the activist.

People should now vote based on courage and belief in democracy, Yesufu noted. She stressed that ordinary citizens hold the real power in any political system.

Her supporters must keep working across all 62 FCT wards without hesitation. In her words: "We are ready to meet them on the primaries ground."

Yesufu posed a defiant question to critics and doubters alike. "Who is afraid of primaries?" she asked.
