Adeleke Faces Criticism for Renovating Government House with ₦‎1 Billion Amidst Hardship

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has come under fire from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for renovating the Government House with an alleged N1billion, despite the current economic challenges faced by the state.

The criticism came after Governor Adeleke inaugurated the newly-rehabilitated Government House in Osogbo last Saturday, showcasing the completed rehabilitation, which included the main house, the completion of an abandoned multi-bedroom guest house, and the remodeling of many structures.

In a statement by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor emphasized the importance of the renovation in improving the functionality and aesthetics of the Government House.

However, the APC, through its state Chairman, Kola Olabisi, condemned the move, calling it a misplaced priority and a waste of resources.

Olabisi argued that the inauguration was inappropriate given the current economic difficulties and the fact that Osun State has been declared the “corporate headquarters of poverty in Yorubaland.”

As the debate over the renovation continues, Governor Adeleke will need to address the concerns raised by the opposition and the public, while also working to improve the economic conditions in the state.
