Adamu Aliyu Secures Jos North APC Primary Victory for Assembly

Hon. Adamu Aliyu has won the APC primary election in Jos North North Constituency.

He secured the ticket during voting held across all seven electoral wards on Wednesday.

Kaban Yuhanna, the returning officer, announced results at Jos North Local Government Secretariat. He declared Aliyu the winner after collating votes from the May 20, 2026 primary.

Aliyu polled 13,066 votes in the race. Harry Ishaya came second with 1,904 votes.

Hon. Shehu Bala Usman received 249 votes in the contest.

Abdulkadir Hassan garnered 182 votes.

Yuhanna said the declaration was official and binding. "By the power vested in me, I hereby declare Hon.

Adamu Aliyu as the winner," he announced.

Aliyu currently serves in the state assembly. His victory means he'll represent the constituency in the next election cycle.

The primary election covered all corners of Jos North North. Turnout appeared strong based on the total votes recorded.
