Adamawa State Government Approves N55.2bn Supplementary Budget for Ongoing Projects

Adamawa State Executive Council (SEC) has approved a supplementary budget of N55,256,595,280 for the year 2024, as announced by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mrs Neido Kufalto, on April 16, 2024.

The decision was made during an emergency SEC meeting, presided over by Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, to ensure the continuation of ongoing projects in the state without interruption.

The supplementary budget is aimed at supporting the ministries of Education and Human Capital Development, Agriculture and Women Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, and Commerce, Trade and Industry, as well as the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG’s) and Ministry of Works and Energy Development.

Mrs Kufalto emphasized that the Adamawa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, is committed to completing all ongoing projects and does not want any project to be halted midway.

Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Emmanuel Piridimso, explained that the supplementary budget was approved following the receipt of additional inflow of funds to the state.

He stressed that the supplementary budget includes projects that were not initially included in the 2024 budget but can now be added due to the new funds.

This move by the Adamawa State Government demonstrates its dedication to the development and progress of the state and its people.

By ensuring the continuation of vital projects, the government is taking a proactive approach to meeting the needs of its citizens and fostering sustainable growth across various sectors.
