Cotonou University Under Fire: Undercover Reporter Exposes Fake Degree Scandal

In a shocking revelation, an undercover journalist has uncovered a major scandal involving the issuance of fake degrees from a Cotonou-based university.

The reporter, who went undercover to investigate the booming business, managed to obtain a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the Ecole Superieure de Gestion et de Technologies (ESGT) University within just six weeks.

The investigation revealed that the process of obtaining the degree was surprisingly simple and quick.

The reporter never attended any classes, took any tests, or even received an admission letter.

The degree was delivered to him just like a pizza, without any hassle or verification of his credentials.

The undercover reporter also participated in the mandatory one-year scheme organized by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), further highlighting the lack of scrutiny and verification in the process.

The reporter spent roughly ₦600,000 to obtain the degree, raising questions about the integrity of the university and the qualifications of its graduates.

The Federal Ministry of Education has expressed concern over the certificate racketeering exposed by the report and has criticized Nigerians who engage in desperate methods to obtain degrees.

The ministry has called for a thorough investigation into the matter and has urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to fake degrees.

This shocking revelation has raised serious questions about the credibility of degrees issued by Cotonou-based universities and the need for stricter regulations to prevent such fraudulent activities.

It is a wake-up call for educational institutions and regulatory bodies to take necessary measures to ensure the authenticity and credibility of degrees and to protect the value of education.
