Pemu donates water project to Sapele community

 

The founder of Festus Pemu Initiative for Social Development and Peace Building and frontline aspirants for Sapele local government chairman in Delta State, Hon Festus Pemu has handed over motorized borehole water project to residents of Oyohen community along Warri – Sapele road, with a promise to reach out to other communities facing similar challenges.

Speaking on the occasion, Pemu stressed the importance of the project to the community, noting that water was one of the most important God-given natural resources.

He, however, reiterated his commitment and dedication to the improvement of the welfare of communities in the area through provisions of basic and social infrastructure as long as God provides.

“i am a bonafide Okpe man, paternally from Amukpe community here and maternally from Elume and by extension, a member of every community that makes up the local government area, upon my visit and conversation with one of the indigenes here, he told me about the plight they were facing and I decided to donate this water project to them.

“I have also discovered that in the area of power, the community has been suffering from electricity from sometime now and by the grace of God, I have promised to bring light to the village” noting that one don’t have to have to be rich to contribute one’s quota to the society.

The chairman of the community, Felix Anahayeri who described the event as one of the happiest in the history of the community, thanked Pemu for the project

“This has been a very great day for the whole community, that we can now drink clean pipe borne water courtesy of Festus Pemu, we will continue to pray for him and God in his indefinite mercy will certainly grant his heart desires” he prayed.

Meanwhile Chipolopolo football club has emerged winner of the Festus Pemu football competition for youths in Sapele local government area of Delta State.

The football competition which was sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, Festus Pemu, was rounded up on Sunday with Igho Fc taking the second prize after they were defeated by two goals to one at the Ethiope Primary school in Amukpe.

Speaking at the occasion, Pemu described moments like this as a special one that has always gladden his heart, adding the competition was to promote peace and foster unity among youths at a time like this, when youth restiveness is becoming order of the day.
