NUJ Elects New President

THE Nigerian Union of Journalists has elected a new president to pilot the affairs of the union and he is Mr. Chris Isiguzo of Thisday Newspapers.

Mr. Chris Isiguzo defeated the incumbent Waheed Odusile to emerged the new president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ.
The election held in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State, was keenly contested as Chris Isiguzo of Thisday Newspapers polled 346 Votes to beat his closest rival, the incumbent president Waheed Odusile who polled 329 votes.
According to the result, as announced by the returning officer, Benson Upah,  Dele Atunbi of NTA polled 101 votes, Abiodun Olalere 56 votes, Seiyefa Uzaka, a director with the Bayelsa State Ministry of Information got 30 votes, Jacob Edi polled  16  votes, and Otunba Mike Aladenika 8 votes.
Meanwhile, Comrade Waheed Odusile and Dele Atubi have already congratulated the winner, Mr Isiguzo Christopher, Cfr.
