CFR Award: Igbo Community Union in Edo congratulates Oba Ewuare II

A leader of Edo State Igbo Community Union, Chief Amb. Fecus Ezekwere JP has congratulated the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II over his receipt of the national award as Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).

This was contained in a press statement made available to Advocate.ng in Benin.

According to Chief Amb. Ezekwere JP “I heartily congratulate Your Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare lI, Oba of Benin, on the National Award of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) bestowed on you. This is another milestone achievement as it speaks to your stance in promoting our traditional institutions”.

Chief Amb. Ezekwere JP who happens to be the only Igbo that worships at Aruosa Cathedral in Benin as a member commended His Royal Majesty’s stance on prostitution and human trafficking and the proscription of Community Development Associations, CDAs which has gained national and international recognition.

” I pray God and the ancestors to continue to protect you and Grant you more wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Benin Kingdom.

According to the National Honours Award Investiture 2022 Programme, 450 recipients were awarded, making the total number of Nigeria’s national honours awardees 5,341 since 1963.

Of the 450 recipients, six were awarded Grand Commanders of the Order of the Niger (GCON), 55 Commanders of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR), 74 Members of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), 77 Officers of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).

Others are 110 Officers of the Order of the Niger (OON), 55 Members of the Order of the Niger (MON), 65 Commanders of the Order of the Niger (CON), Four Federal Republic Medal- First Class (FRM I) and Four Federal Republic Medal- Second Class FRM II.
