14-year-old boy, die from collapsed building in Delta

A 14 year-old  boy, Experience Ofara died Monday evening at Amukpe, Sapele, Delta State, after an abandoned school building collapsed on him while playing with his friends.

Experience popularly known as Sp, a primary six pupil of a private school in the Okirigwre area of the town, was said to have attended an extra moral class in preparation for next month primary school leaving certificate and on his return went out with his friends to play at the abandon school site.

A source who gave his name as Ufuoma Ugbene said “Sp came from lesson class this evening (Monday) and went out to play with his friends at the abandon School building opposite their house and the next thing we heard was people shouting that the building wall has collapsed on him, we took him to hospital but he died before we could get there” she said.

Another source, who simply called himself Daniel, who claim to be neighbor to the Ofaras told ADVOCATE that “Sp took a swing on one of the woods and because the building was old and already had a crack, the building came crashing down on him.”

Experience was said to be the only son of his parents.
