Yahaya Bello Plots Escape to Reunite with Wife in North African Country Amid EFCC Investigation

Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, is reportedly planning to flee Nigeria to reunite with his wife in a North African country amid an ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC had previously declared Bello wanted for over N80 Billion fraud and had attempted to arrest him at his residence in Abuja.

Multiple sources have revealed that Bello, who escaped the arrest, plans to leave Nigeria and head to a North African country where one of his wives resides and manages their investments.

The former governor is also said to possess two passports, one from a North African country and another from an Arab nation, where he allegedly has multi-million dollar investments.

A family member and other sources have accused Bello’s administration of mismanagement, stealing, misplacement of priorities, misappropriation, corruption, nepotism, killings, and oppression during his eight-year tenure.

They claim that apart from Okene local government and a few others within his senatorial district, no other local government in Kogi State enjoyed projects like hospitals or road constructions under his leadership.

Critics of Bello’s administration argue that the people of Kogi State were enslaved during his tenure due to alleged occultic powers and unreported killings, which resulted in a climate of fear.

They challenge his media team to point out any significant development projects in the remaining 16 local governments under his administration.

In light of these allegations, it is believed that Bello is exploring the option of fleeing the country to avoid facing the charges and consequences of his actions.

The sources mentioned that he has prepared for his bail in court with millions of dollars.

As the situation unfolds, the EFCC continues to investigate the allegations against the former governor, while the public awaits further developments on the case.
