Tragic Inferno: 25 Passengers Perish in Horrific Kogi Auto Crash

25 passengers met a gruesome fate in a horrific auto crash in Aloma, Ofu local government area of Kogi State.

The accident, involving a Toyota Sienna bus, a Toyota Hiace bus, and an articulated vehicle, occurred on the morning of April 21, 2024, when the two buses collided while attempting to negotiate a pothole on the road.

The collision led to a devastating fire that engulfed both vehicles, leaving no survivors among the passengers and drivers.

Eyewitnesses reported that the accident took place in front of Aloma Teachers’ College, and the raging inferno also consumed an articulated vehicle parked nearby, as well as a nearby house.

The villagers were unable to provide any assistance due to the absence of fire-fighting equipment, further exacerbating the tragedy.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi State has been informed of the incident, but the Sector Commander, Mr. Samuel Ayodeji, was unavailable for comment as he was engaged in a meeting at the command.

The FRSC is expected to provide further details and conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident.
