Timi Frank Urges EFCC to Probe Corruption Under Buhari, Commends Action Against Yahaya Bello

Comrade Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to extend its investigation into corruption under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He commended the anti-graft commission for its efforts to prosecute former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello, but urged the agency to also investigate other officials, including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, who have been accused of corruption.

In a statement, Frank emphasized the importance of the EFCC taking action against all allegedly corrupt public officials, regardless of their political affiliations.

He noted that Nigerians are yet to see the arrest and prosecution of many individuals accused of corruption under Buhari’s administration, despite petitions against them.

Frank argued that by bringing those accused of corruption to trial, the EFCC would demonstrate to Nigerians that their actions against Bello are not politically motivated.

He stressed that it is essential for the anti-graft commission to maintain its credibility and impartiality in the fight against corruption.

The former APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary’s call for a more comprehensive investigation into corruption under the Buhari administration comes amid ongoing efforts by the EFCC to tackle graft in Nigeria.

As the agency continues its work, it remains to be seen whether it will heed Frank’s advice and expand its probe to include other high-profile cases of alleged corruption.
