Super Falcons striker Omorinsola Babajide has set out the team's targets heading into the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Nigeria will hunt for an 11th continental title under coach Justine Madugu, with the tournament doubling as qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
The Super Falcons have never missed a Women's World Cup since 1991, a streak they're determined to extend. Babajide, expected to feature in Nigeria's squad, says the dual objective drives their focus equally.
"Whether we're chasing the African crown or World Cup qualification, the pressure feels the same because we want to win," the AS Roma forward told thenff.com. "The real pressure comes from within—we know what we've committed to as professionals."
Babajide stressed the weight of defending their WAFCON crown. "Being the defending champions, we want to keep the trophy," she added.
Nigeria's campaign kicks off against Malawi's Scorchers at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday, July 28. The team will then face Zambia and Egypt in Group C.
