Stransact Chartered Accountants is hunting for exceptional graduating students across Nigeria's top universities. The firm will select five standout finalists from each of 20 institutions ranked by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, then honour them through its new Honours Roll.
Winners get cash prizes and fast-track entry into the Stransact Talent Vault (STV), a programme designed to build a pipeline of job-ready graduates for the profession.
The 20 universities in the scheme are Ahmadu Bello University, Afe Babalola University, Babcock University, Bayero University Kano, and Covenant University. The list also covers Delta State University, Ekiti State University, Federal University of Technology Akure, Federal University of Technology Owerri, Lagos State University, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, and Obafemi Awolowo University.
Rounding out the selection are University of Benin, University of Ibadan, University of Jos, University of Lagos, University of Ilorin, University of Uyo, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, and University of Nigeria.
University leaders have backed the scheme enthusiastically. They describe it as a timely intervention that motivates top students while bridging the gap between campus learning and industry needs.
Wahab Egbewole, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, praised Stransact for launching the merit-based initiative. "This laudable initiative will undoubtedly motivate students towards academic excellence and positive contributions to society," he said in a statement to reporters.
Egbewole noted that corporate recognition programmes like this are crucial for sparking healthy competition among undergraduates and driving the human capital development Nigeria needs for sustainable growth.
Stransact Chartered Accountants, which operates as part of RSM International—a global network offering audit, tax, consulting, and deals advisory services—rolled out the Honours Roll recently to celebrate outstanding final-year students nationwide.
The annual programme targets five exceptional finalists from each of the 20 universities across five disciplines: sciences, mathematics, engineering and technology, business and accounting, and law and humanities.
Each winner receives N100,000 in cash, official recognition as a Stransact Honours Roll recipient, and an invitation to join the Stransact Talent Vault. The STV equips high-performing graduates with practical skills and real-world professional exposure for today's competitive job market.
Egbewole told reporters that selecting University of Ilorin among the top 20 institutions validates the university's commitment to excellence. He said the recognition would spur the institution to keep pushing standards in teaching, research, and innovation.
