Sokoto Killing: Police Arrest 2 Suspects, Recover Rustled Cattle

The Sokoto State police have made significant progress in their investigations into the recent village market attack that resulted in six fatalities in Kiri, Gada local government area.

Two suspects have been apprehended, and the police have recovered three cows and a dane gun as evidence.

The suspects, who hail from Sabon Garin Dole in Goronyo local government area, have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime.

In a separate incident, the police have also launched an investigation into the alleged killing of an armed robbery suspect by a mob in the Old Airport axis of Sokoto State.

According to sources within the community, the mob took action against the robbery suspect, who had invaded the area with two other accomplices currently at large.

In the aftermath, the police reportedly conducted a series of arrests, including that of a passerby, prompting community leaders to communicate with the police authority regarding the situation.

The Sokoto State police public relations officer, ASP Ahmad Rufai, confirmed the arrests and the ongoing investigation into the mob action.

He stated that the police would take necessary action after concluding their investigation.

The recent incidents have raised concerns about community safety and the need for effective law enforcement in the state.
