Rwanda is set to establish a new chapter of collaboration with Ogun State in Nigeria, focusing on economic and educational development.
Ambassador Christophe Bazivamo, the Rwandan Ambassador to Nigeria, expressed the country’s interest in learning from Ogun State’s achievements in the areas of industry and education during a meeting with Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The Ambassador highlighted the importance of South-South cooperation in driving economic growth and creating job opportunities for the youth.
He emphasized that both countries could benefit from the exchange of ideas and skills, particularly in the development of local industries and the promotion of locally made products.
Ambassador Bazivamo also revealed plans for the Rwandan Private Sector Federation to work closely with the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture.
This collaboration aims to foster trade, exchange ideas, and establish a sustainable partnership between the two regions.
The Ambassador also mentioned the signing of an agreement on the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation between Rwanda and Nigeria, with an upcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate planning and implementation.
This agreement signifies a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and promoting mutual economic growth.
Rwanda’s interest in collaborating with Ogun State is driven by a desire to learn from the state’s industrialization efforts and replicate successful strategies in Rwanda.
The Ambassador noted the importance of African Continental Trade Area in promoting regional cooperation and trade, emphasizing the need for collaboration to drive economic growth.
